Chris was a key supporter of the First Step Act, the landmark criminal justice reform bill that was passed into law in late 2018, after years of hard work and negotiations.
He hasn’t stopped there, though. Chris is still working to reform our criminal justice system by making the sentencing system more just and more fair, encouraging the use of community policing, and treating drug addiction like the public health crisis it is.
Chris has also led efforts to reduce violence and crime in Delaware communities – from his work with the Obama administration to include Wilmington in the Violence Reduction Network to his efforts to reauthorize the Victims of Child Abuse Act.
